Neyens is the No. 89 overall prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline’s top 100 rankings.
The 19-year-old Neyens was born in Everett and was a prep star as a third baseman and pitcher for Mount Vernon, which is roughly 90 minutes north of Seattle, situated between Everett and Bellingham on I-5.
Neyens, who checks in at 6 foot 3 and 210 pounds, was selected No. 21 overall in the first round of the 2025 MLB Draft out of high school by Houston.
This year is Neyens’ first pro season. With the Single-A Fayetteville Woodpeckers in North Carolina, the lefty swinger is hitting .245 with a .454 on-base percentage, .923 OPS, 13 home runs, 15 stolen bases, 36 RBIs and 70 walks to 84 strikeouts. He has played 36 games at third base, 16 at shortstop and nine as the designated hitter.
Neyens will join a pair of Seattle Mariners prospects – Double-A pitchers Kade Anderson and Ryan Sloan – in the Futures Game. Anderson and Sloan were named to the game’s roster on Wednesday.
Seattle Mariners’ trade deadline approach hinges on one question
