After a slow start following his trade back to Seattle, Suárez has been heating up of late, which continued Wednesday with what the third baseman is known best for – blasting home runs.

Suárez clubbed a three-run homer for the second straight day to give Seattle a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning against the San Diego Padres. He connected on a cutter left over the middle of the plate by Padres starter Yu Darvish and launched a towering 382-foot blast into the Mariners’ bullpen in left-center field.

The home run was Suárez’s 42nd this season and brought his RBI total 104, which are both good for fourth in MLB.

Suárez also hit a three-run homer Tuesday night as the Mariners rallied during a six-run fifth inning before eventually falling 7-6.

The Mariners reacquired Suárez from the Diamondbacks in a July 31 trade that sent three players to Arizona.

The 34 year old’s first eight games back with the M’s were a touch worrisome, with the often-streaky Suárez going 2 for 33 (.067 average) with 13 strikeouts and just two walks.

But the club has started the see the other side of Suárez’s streakiness lately. Entering Wednesday, he was 11 for 45 (.244 average) with a .924 OPS, three doubles and four homers in 13 games since Aug. 13.

Suárez now has six home runs and 17 RBIs in 25 games with the M’s this season, which includes four homers in his past seven games.
