Seahawks Week 16 injury report: Pete Carroll hints at possible return for DeShawn Shead

Seahawks cornerback DeShawn Shead “has a chance to play” in Seattle’s game against the Dallas Cowboys Sunday, head coach Pete Carroll told reporters Friday.

Shead hasn’t seen the field in more than 11 months. He suffered a season-ending ACL injury in January, and began the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
“We’ll see in a little bit,” Carroll said, when asked whether or not Shead would be activated. “We’ll see if we can do it or not. We’ll let you know.”
Linebacker K.J. Wright is set to make his return to action after being sidelined with a concussion last week. While fellow linebacker Bobby Wagner was able to start last week, he was eventually pulled from the contest. This week, Carroll said he’s taking steps forward — notably, as opposed to last week, Carroll is confident he’ll be able to play.
“He’s ready to go. He practiced today, he’s ready to go,” Carroll said.
“He didn’t do anything, he couldn’t do anything last week. We didn’t see him until Sunday, so he’s well ahead of that and that’s a great sign… the whole week has turned out very positive for him.”
Safety Bradley McDougald is listed as questionable on Seattle’s final injury report, but Carroll said he’s prepared to play.
“He’s good, he’s ready to go. He needed a little extra break this week, but he got back in practice and he’s fine.”
Carroll confirmed defensive tackle Nazair Jones is rehabbing from a high ankle sprain. He’s doubtful for Sunday.
