The result was a setback for the Seahawks.

The offensive line took a step forward, though. At least that was the review from coach Pete Carroll in his Monday post-mortem exam of the Seahawks’ 33-27 loss in Tennessee.

O’Neil: What we learned in Sunday’s loss to Titans

“Our line really showed us some stuff yesterday that we liked,” Carroll said. “We saw that we could protect. We saw that when we did run the football we had some nice movement at the line of scrimmage and so we’re moving.”

Carroll singled out newcomer Oday Aboushi, who started his first game as a Seahawk. A free-agent addition from Houston in the offseason, Aboushi competed with Mark Glowinski for the starting job at right guard in the preseason.

The Seahawks tabbed Glowinski as the starter coming into the regular season, but made a switch last week with Aboushi moving into the first-team role while Glowinski was inactive.

Carroll said Aboushi’s presence had something to do with the improvement.

“He helped us yesterday,” Carroll said, “and it was a nice performance by him and I think he complemented well for his first time out with us. So that was good.”
