Video: Jean Segura homers in Mariners’ rain-shortened loss to Royals

Feb 27, 2017, 3:01 PM | Updated: 3:05 pm

Monday was a rough day for Mariners pitchers, who had opened Cactus League play by allowing only five runs over two games to San Diego but got hammered for 14 in a rain-shortened loss to Kansas City.

Here’s the box score.

New shortstop Jean Segura drove in all three Mariners runs, two coming on a line-drive homer to left-center field. Check it out in the video embedded above. His 3-for-3 day also included an RBI double down the left-field line, which you can watch here.

Up next for the Mariners is a 12:05 p.m. game Tuesday against the White Sox. 710 ESPN Seattle will air it live.
