Roster Moves: Seattle Seahawks sign ex-Oregon State RB, 2 others
Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said Monday that Adams tore his right quadriceps in Saturday’s game against the New York Giants. Adams, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, is expected to have season-ending surgery.
The 30-year-old Adams signed on the eve of the start of training camp with Minnesota. The No. 6 overall NFL Draft pick by the Jets in 2017, Adams played three years in New York, four for the Seattle Seahawks, split time between Tennessee and Detroit in 2024, and played last year with Las Vegas.
Adams previously suffered a torn quad in Week 1 of the 2022 season with the Seahawks, which took him out for the rest of that year and even some of the 2023 season. He never played more than 12 games in the regular season during his time with Seattle, but played the full 17 games for the Raiders last year.
The Vikings signed cornerback Bryce Phillips to fill Adams’ spot on the roster. Phillips originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Kansas City following the 2026 NFL draft. His brother, Clark Phillips III, plays cornerback for Atlanta after starring collegiately at Utah.
