Mariners recall INF Mike Freeman, 1B Dan Vogelbach and RHP Cody Martin for stretch run

As expected, the Mariners recalled a pair of infielders and an extra arm for the bullpen on Monday.

The Mariners brought up Mike Freeman, Dan Vogelbach and righty Cody Martin from Triple-A, two days after the Rainiers’ season ended. The moves put Seattle’s active roster at 35.

Vogelbach, a left-handed first baseman who was acquired from the Cubs in July in the Mike Montgomery trade, will be making his major-league debut with his first appearance. The 24-year-old reached base safely in 121 of 133 games in Triple-A this season, posting a .417 on-base percentage, while playing in Iowa and Tacoma.

Freeman has played two games over a pair of stints with the Mariners this season and was last optioned to Tacoma on Aug. 27. Martin is 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA in seven appearances, including two starts, over three stints this season with Seattle.
