Roster Moves: Seahawks sign former Eagles CB, waive TE

The Seattle Seahawks added some cornerback depth ahead of the start of training camp, signing cornerback Brandon Johnson on Tuesday.

The team waived tight end Harrison Bryant to make room on the 90-man roster.

Johnson, 23, appeared in three games as a rookie with the Philadelphia Eagles last season after going undrafted out of Oregon. He made one start and registered three tackles and one pass defended.

The Eagles waived Johnson in June.

Johnson spent his first three college seasons at Duke, earning an All-ACC honorable mention as a junior in 2023. He was an All-Big Ten honorable mention in his lone season at Oregon, racking up 45 tackles, five passes defended, 4 1/2 tackles for loss and an interception over 14 games while helping the Ducks reach the College Football Playoff semifinals.

In 50 games over his four college seasons, the 5-foot-10, 185-pound defensive back totaled 173 tackles, 20 1/2 tackles for loss, 16 passes defended, eight sacks, three interceptions and two forced fumbles.

Bryant, a six-year pro, signed with the Seahawks in April. He had two catches for seven yards in 12 games with the Houston Texans last season.

The Seahawks begin training camp on Saturday.
