Daniel Jeremiah says Seahawks had ‘boringly good’ draft

The Seattle Seahawks followed up their Super Bowl championship with an NFL Draft that went so well, one insider is almost bored with it.

“I thought they did well, man,” NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah said Tuesday on Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk. “I thought almost it was like a boringly good draft for the Seahawks. Just hitting it just one after another after another. It just all kind of made sense, it all kind of flowed. They took what was there. I don’t think they reached it all and I thought they got a bunch of guys that can come help.”

The Seahawks went into the draft last week with just four picks to their name. And even though they used their picks in both of the first round (running back Jadarian Price) and second round (safety Bud Clark), general manager John Schneider maneuvered his way into eight total picks over the three-day event by making four trades from the third round on.

Boring as Seattle’s draft may have been, there are a few potential diamonds in the rough that Jeremiah highlighted.

“They’re going to love Bud Clark, man. Like, Bud Clark’s going to be outstanding in Seattle,” Jeremiah said of the TCU safety the Seahawks selected in the second round.

A bit deeper in the draft, Seattle traded into the fifth round to pick Iowa guard Beau Stephens, who Jeremiah thinks could push incumbent right guard Anthony Bradford for playing time.

“I’d be curious to see if Beau Stephens ends up cracking the lineup there. That would be interesting to me to see if he ends up getting some play,” Jeremiah said. “… I think he’s better right now, so I would feel comfortable about him vs. Bradford. I think that would be an interesting thing to monitor going forward.”
