CB Josh Jobe reportedly returns to Seahawks on 3-year deal

The reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks are on the board in free agency.

Seattle is re-signing 27-year-old cornerback Josh Jobe to a three-year, $24 million contract, according to a report from ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler on Monday afternoon.

So far, Jobe is the only player to re-sign with the Seahawks since the NFL’s free agent negotiating window began Monday morning.

Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker III is reportedly signing a three-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs that’s worth up to $45 million, safety Coby Bryant is heading to the Chicago Bears on a reported three-year, $40 million deal and edge rusher Boye Mafe is signing with the Cincinnati Bengals on a reported three-year, $60 million deal.

Many considered Jobe the most likely of Seattle’s unrestricted free agents to re-sign, given his more palatable price tag.

Jobe, a former practice squad player, had an interception and 12 pass breakups in 16 games this past season in his first full year as one of Seattle’s primary cornerbacks. He added a third-down pass breakup and a tackle for loss in the Super Bowl.

Jobe also recorded the ninth-lowest opposing completion percentage (49.5%), the 13th-fewest yards allowed per target (5.7) and the 22nd-lowest opposing passer rating (77.0) out of the 83 cornerbacks who logged at least 500 defensive snaps in 2025, according to Stathead. He also ranked 18th out of 112 cornerbacks in Pro Football Focus run defense grading.

Jobe began the 2024 season on Seattle’s practice squad before surging up the depth chart and taking over as the team’s third cornerback midway through the season. He then re-signed with the Seahawks on a one-year, $2 million contract last offseason and served as one of Seattle’s primary outside corners in 2025.

Jobe went undrafted out of Alabama and spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons in Philadelphia, where he started three games for the Eagles. After being released by Philadelphia during 2024 roster cutdowns, he signed with Seattle’s practice squad.

The Seahawks have now brought back two starting members of their Super Bowl-winning defense that were set to be free agents. The other was linebacker Drake Thomas, who reportedly agreed last week to a two-year, $8 million deal that could be worth up to $9 million. Thomas was set to become a restricted free agent.
