The Seahawks will be as healthy as they’ve been since early in the 2021 season when they take on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Week 10, but they’ll still be without a top playmaker on offense.

Star quarterback Russell Wilson (right middle finger) and rookie receiver Dee Eskridge (concussion) will both return for the Seahawks after lengthy absences, but starting running back Chris Carson (neck) will be out yet again despite returning to practice this week. Wilson has been out since Week 5, Eskridge since Week 1 and Carson since Week 4.

Head coach Pete Carroll on Friday morning told Seahawks play-by-play announcer Steve Raible that Carson would be a gametime decision against the Packers, but just a few hours later, Carroll told reporters Friday afternoon that Carson has yet to be cleared by team doctors to play despite practicing. That means that Alex Collins is expected to start once again at running back with Carson out.

In four games this year, Carson has 232 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. Collins has 304 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns in seven games.

Carson was designated to return to practice earlier this week, which gives the Seahawks 21 days to add him back to the 53-man roster. They did the same with Wilson and Eskridge, and both were added to the 53-man roster on Friday. Defensive back Marquise Blair was placed on injured reserve due to season-ending knee surgery while tight end Tyler Mabry was waived.

As far as the rest of Seattle’s injury report cornerback Bless Austin (non-injury related) and linebacker Cody Barton (quadricep) are out while defensive tackle Al Woods (non-injury related) is questionable.
