The Seahawks entered their Week 1 contest against the Indianapolis Colts with a very clean bill of health, with all six inactive players being healthy scratches.

Pete Carroll Preview: Seahawks HC breaks down Week 2 clash with Titans

That doesn’t appear to be the case for this Sunday against the Tennessee Titans, however.

Overall, the Seahawks are still very healthy, but three key members of the offense and a starter on defense are in danger of missing Seattle’s home opener.

On offense, wide receiver Dee Eskridge and running back Rashaad Penny are doubtful, and starting left guard Damien Lewis is questionable. On defense, starting cornerback D.J. Reed and defensive tackle Bryan Mone are questionable.

Eskridge, the team’s second-round pick this year, is dealing with a concussion, which knocked him out of Week 1 and has kept him sidelined during practice. He made his NFL debut last week and caught one pass for 6 yards and had two rushes for 22 yards.

Penny, Seattle’s first-round pick in 2018, has a calf injury that also caused him to leave last week’s game. He ran the ball two times for 8 yards.

Lewis, who started every game for the Seahawks last year, is battling  groin injury. He didn’t practice on Thursday as a result, but returned to practice on Friday. If he can’t start, Jamarco Jones could be the next man up. He’s listed as Lewis’ backup on the Seahawks’ website. But head coach Pete Carroll told reporters that Lewis looked good at practice on Friday, seeming to indicate he will play against the Titans.

Reed, like Penny, is dealing with a calf injury and Carroll said he looked good at practice on Friday. He also was dealing with a foot injury early in the week. If he can’t go, former UW standout Sidney Jones could see his first snaps with the Seahawks on defense.

Mone has an elbow injury and defensive tackle is a position group that the Seahawks don’t have much depth in, with Mone being one of three on the roster. The Seahawks do, however, have bigger defensive ends who have lined up inside, such as L.J. Collier, Kerry Hyder Jr. and Rasheem Green. The team also has Myles Adams, Jarrod Hewitt and Robert Nkemdiche as defensive tackles the practice squad who could be called up for Sunday’s game.

Carroll said Mone was doing well and “chomping at the bit” to play.

For the Titans, first-round rookie cornerback Caleb Farley (shoulder) is out. Outside linebacker Bud Dupree (knee), tight end Anthony Firsker (knee), linebacker David Long (hamstring) and linebacker Jayon Brown (hamstring) are all questionable.
