Seahawks’ WR depth takes a hit as David Moore joins Panthers

Ethan Pocic, who had a breakout 2020 season as Seattle’s starting center, is reportedly re-signing with the team on a one-year, $3 million contract, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

A second-round pick by Seattle in 2017, Pocic struggled to stick at a spot on the line over his first three seasons. He took over at center last season after the Seahawks moved on from previous starter Justin Britt, however, and blossomed in the role. He started all 14 games he played.

The 6-foot-6, 320-pound Pocic moved around the line during his time in college, but ultimately proved to be primarily a center. Seattle tried him as a guard early in his career.

The Seahawks lost guard Mike Iupati to retirement earlier this offseason, and with Pocic entering free agency they had two O-line positions to fill. They have apparently addressed them both in the past two days by re-signing Pocic and trading with the Raiders for veteran guard Gabe Jackson, which was reported Wednesday.
