Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice did not practice on Wednesday due to a sore foot.

Head coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday that Rice woke up Monday with a bruise and is now wearing a boot. Rice has been battling a toe injury all season, but is uncertain of exactly how he sustained this latest injury.

“He’s improved quite a bit since game day the last couple of days, but he’s got a pretty sore foot,” Carroll said. “He’s got the X-rays and MRIs and all of that and we didn’t find anything that would keep him from playing. He just has to get back, he’s feeling really sore right now.”

Carroll said wide receiver Charly Martin, rarely active this season on game day, could play Sunday if Rice is unavailable. With the release of Braylon Edwards, the Seahawks have just five receivers on the active roster.

Cornerback Marcus Trufant continues to miss practice with a hamstring injury. Trufant has been inactive the last two games and Carroll is uncertain when he will return to full duty. Cornerback Walter Thurmond, recently activated from the Physically Unable to Perform List, has landed back on the injury report with a hamstring issue. Thurmond was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday.

Safety Kam Chancellor (groin) and defensive end Red Bryant (foot) were the only other players who sat out practice Wednesday. Chancellor and Bryant were listed throughout last week with the same injuries, however, both played Sunday. Running back Marshawn Lynch (back) was limited.

The Buffalo Bills listed 21 players on their Wednesday practice report, though no one has been ruled out yet for Sunday.
