The road to the Super Bowl in the NFC travels through Seattle, where the Seahawks have lost one game in 2013 and rarely lose at all. Working in their favor is this week’s visitor, the Saints, whom Seattle easily disposed of in their last meeting (you guessed it, in Seattle).

The average price for Seahawks playoff tickets to the game this week is $338. CenturyLink Field will be rocking. However, lots of Seahawks fans may be saving money for next week and perhaps even a trip to MetLife Stadium in February for Super Bowl XLVIII.

Right now, prices for Super Bowl tickets are the most expensive sporting event over the last year, at an average price of $3,440. However it’s actually the second-least expensive Super Bowl over the last five years. While Super Bowl tickets are up 2 percent in price since the playoff field was set, prices are not moving much for Super Bowl tickets.

There’s another market, however, that is very active – for face-price reservations. Face-price reservations are similar to an option in the financial market, where you pay a certain amount of money for the right to buy the asset itself. In this case, the asset is a face-price ticket to the Super Bowl, which isn’t something that is available for the average fan. Just like a financial option, you can buy or sell the option once you’ve purchased it, or you can buy that Super Bowl ticket and save a lot of money compared to what you’d have to spend in the secondary market.

This is a possibility thanks to TeamTix, a company that allows fans to put their money where their mouth (or faith) is. Click here to see all Seahawks Super Bowl options from TeamTix.

How much exactly will you save by buying a face-price reservation? Right now, the cheapest ticket price on the secondary market for the Super Bowl is $2,518 and the average price is $3,448. The face value for the cheapest ticket price through TeamTix is $1,000, which means that after buying the option, you’d be paying a total of $1,750, or about half the average ticket price on the secondary market.

Right now, the Seahawks have the most expensive face-price reservation by $200. The next closest is the Broncos, which means that, like Vegas, the ticket market is expecting a Seahawks-Broncos Super Bowl.

As for Saturday’s game, the average price is closing in on $350 and if Seattle reaches the NFC Championship Game, that would rise to $722.
