SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Bumpus: Comparing 4 Seahawks QB options, there’s a clear choice
The Seahawks have two quarterbacks with starting experience on their roster, but the conversation around who will replace Russell Wilson as the starter this year is far from limited to those names.
Wyman & Bob: Are Jimmy G’s stats against Seahawks skewing some fans?
While Drew Lock and Geno Smith have been battling it out in offseason workouts at Seahawks headquarters in Renton, a pair of signal callers who appear to be out of their old jobs continue to be rumored as potential targets for Seattle.
First up was Baker Mayfield, who has started 59 of his 60 games in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns since he was made the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Browns traded for DeShaun Watson earlier this offseason, meaning Mayfield’s days in Cleveland are numbered.
Lately, it’s Jimmy Garoppolo who has received most of the attention. He’s started all but one of the 46 games he’s played for San Francisco since 2017, but the 49ers have Trey Lance, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 draft, ready to take over.
How do those four candidates compare to each other, and which one is the best option? Michael Bumpus, a former Seahawks wide receiver, current analyst for the Seahawks Radio Network and the new co-host of Seattle Sports’ Bump and Stacy, breaks all of that down in his latest video for the Seattle Sports YouTube channel. And yes, to him there is a clear-cut top choice – but you have to watch the video to find out who it is.
Catch Bump and Stacy live Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Seattle Sports. Podcasts are available at this link an hour after each show concludes.
