Seahawks Draft: Bumpus breaks down CBs Coby Bryant, Tariq Woolen
Now that the Seahawks have their nine 2022 NFL Draft picks set, it’s time to break them down.
A close look at all nine Seahawks draft picks
We’ve got former NFL wide receiver Michael Bumpus, a Seahawks analyst and regular contributor to Seattle Sports Station 710 AM, doing exactly that in a new video series on our YouTube channel. To kick things off, Bump covers two players he’s especially excited about seeing in Seattle’s secondary: cornerbacks Coby Bryant and Tariq Woolen.
Fourth-rounder Bryant played alongside Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, a fellow cornerback who was a first-round pick of the New York Jets, for the Cincinnati Bearcats. And while Gardner received most of the attention coming into the draft, Bryant actually won the Jim Thorpe Award as the top defensive back in college football in 2021.
Woolen, meanwhile, could be more of a diamond in the rough out of UTSA. He’s drawing comparisons to Richard Sherman as a tall, fast cornerback picked in the fifth round who converted from receiver, but he’s actually even a little taller and a little faster than the former Seahawks great.
So why do the choices of Bryant and Woolen jump out so much to Bump? Watch the video to get the full breakdown.
