Wyman: What exactly the Seahawks’ run defense is struggling against

Dave Wyman is seeing a trend in the way opposing offenses are succeeding against the Seattle Seahawks’ struggling defense this season.
Rost: Why Seahawks’ poor D is hurting them more now than last year
The Seahawks have lost two straight and find themselves between a rock and hard place at 1-2 on the season with a brutal stretch coming up. That starts Sunday on the road against the San Francisco 49ers (2-1) and then continues just four days later when the undefeated Los Angeles Rams come to Lumen Field for Thursday Night Football. And if those teams can learn anything from what the Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings did in the last two weeks against Seattle, it’s in the run game.
Wyman, a former Seahawks linebacker who is now the color commentator on the Seahawks Radio Network and co-host of 710 ESPN Seattle’s Wyman and Bob, breaks down one running play each by the Titans’ Derrick Henry and the Vikings’ Alexander Mattison to show the weakness in Seattle’s defense both teams exploited in this week’s Football 101 video (watch the full Henry play in the tweet embedded below).

You can hear Wyman and Bob Stelton from 2-7 p.m. Monday through Friday on 710 ESPN Seattle, as well as The Huddle from noon to 2 p.m. Thursdays on 710. He’ll also be on the call for the Seahawks broadcast Sunday when they kick off at 1:05 p.m. in Santa Clara, Calif., against the 49ers.
