Seattle Storm to sign veteran Natisha Hiedeman, per reports

The Seattle Storm are reportedly set to make an addition in WNBA free agency.

Veteran guard Natisha Hiedeman is expected to sign with the Storm, Khristina Williams of MSG Network reported Friday. The report was also confirmed by ESPN’s Alexa Philippou, who added that it will be a two-year contract.

The news comes on the same day that veteran All-Star forward Nneka Ogwumike announced her intentions to leave Seattle and return to the Los Angeles Sparks.

The 29-year-old Hiedeman spent the past two seasons in a reserve role with the Minnesota Lynx, and finished second in the Sixth Person of the Year Award voting for 2025 after averaging 9.1 points, 2.8 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game. She shot 49.2% from the field, 37.1% on 3-pointers and 76.1% on free throws.

Prior to going to Minnesota, the 5-foot-8 Hiedeman played the first five years of her WNBA career with the Connecticut Sun, who picked her in the second round of the 2019 WNBA Draft out of Marquette.

A native of Green Bay, Wisc., Hiedeman has also spent time in the coaching and front office ranks. She joined her former college coach Carolyn Kieger at Penn State as director of player development in 2022, then spent the 2023-24 season as an assistant on Kieger’s staff.

The Storm could be in for a big shift this offseason, as All-Star guard Skylar Diggins is an unrestricted free agent and could join Ogwumike in leaving the team. The 2026 season will be Seattle’s first under new head coach Sonia Raman, who was hired after the Storm let Noelle Quinn go after a second straight first-round exit in the WNBA Playoffs in her fifth season as the team’s coach.
