The start of training camp comes just days before the Kraken hit the ice for the very first time against another NHL team in their preseason opener Sunday. That will take place in Spokane at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena (remember that fact for a great Seattle sports trivia question in a few years) when the Kraken host the Vancouver Canucks at 6 p.m.
The full Seattle Kraken training camp will take place from Thursday through Monday, Oct. 11, with six preseason games taking place along the way. After Sunday’s game in Spokane, the Kraken will hold two more “home” preseason games – Oct. 1 against the Edmonton Oilers at Everett’s Angel of the Winds Arena (home of the WHL’s Everett Silvertips), and Oct. 2 against the Calgary Flames at Kent’s accesso ShoWare Center (home of the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds).
The Kraken will start the regular season on the road against the Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 12, and after a six-game road trip, they will return to Seattle to play their home opener at the brand new Climate Pledge Arena on Oct. 23 against Vancouver.
