What weather forecast says for Seahawks-Rams NFC title game

Weather doesn't appear like it will be much of a factor when the Seattle Seahawks host the LA Rams in the NFC Championship.

Those hoping for “football weather” this weekend at Lumen Field will likely have to wait for another Seattle Seahawks playoff run to get it. But those in attendance should still bundle up.

The Pacific Northwest can have some nasty weather this time of the year, but it’s shaping up to be a dry and somewhat sunny day when the Seahawks host the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship.

Sunday’s forecast calls for a temperature of 44 degrees with partly cloudy skies when the Seahawks and Rams kick off at 3:30 p.m., according to The National Weather Service. The temperature is expected to stay in the upper 30s by the time the game should end. The chance of rain throughout the contest tops out at just 3%. Wind also shouldn’t be much of a factor with it expected to be at just 1-2 mph.

The weather on Sunday will be quite a bit different from what the Rams experienced a week ago at Chicago’s Soldier Field in the NFC Divisional Round, where the temperature was 19 degrees at kickoff, plus light snow and 20-plus mph wind gusts helping contribute to a real feel of minus-4 degrees.

There hasn’t been a snow game in Seattle since the Seahawks hosted the Bears on Dec. 26, 2021.

Radio coverage of the NFC Championship, which will kick off at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, can be heard on Seattle Sports 710 AM, KIRO Newsradio 97.3 FM and the Seattle Sports app starting with the pregame show at noon.
