Seattle Seahawks Moves: Top pick signed; WSU product waived

May 12, 2025, 3:07 PM | Updated: 3:09 pm

The Seattle Seahawks have addressed one key order of post-NFL Draft business: they’ve signed their first-round pick, Grey Zabel, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Ex-Seahawks safety Rayshawn Jenkins lands team in free agency

Zabel, an offensive guard who the Seahawks selected No. 18 overall out of North Dakota State last month, has agreed to a fully guaranteed $18.471 million contract over four years, per Schefter.

The selection of Zabel has received rave reviews from draft experts, and it’s expected he will compete to start from the beginning of the 2025 season.

Seahawks roster moves

Also on Monday, the Seahawks announced they have waived veteran wide receiver River Cracraft, a former WSU Cougars standout who was signed out of free agency in March. Cracraft has seven years of NFL experience with the Denver Broncos (2018-19), San Francisco 49ers (2020-21) and Miami Dolphins (2022-24).

In the same announcement, the Seahawks said they have signed a pair of undrafted rookies: linebacker D’Eryk Jackson and receiver Montorie Foster Jr.

Jackson was a three-year starter at Kentucky who led the team in tackles in 2022 and 2023, and was named All-SEC by Pro Football Focus in 2023.

Foster, a five-time letterwinner at Michigan State, made 46 receptions for 588 yards with three touchdowns in 2024.

Like Zabel, both Jackson and Foster participated in the Seahawks’ rookie minicamp earlier this month.
