Seahawks claim OT from Chiefs ahead of preseason finale
The move comes a day before the Seattle Seahawks take on the Kansas City Chiefs in their preseason finale Friday night.

The Seattle Seahawks claimed offensive tackle Kellen Diesch on Thursday, a day after he was waived by Seattle’s opponent in its preseason finale Friday night, the Kansas City Chiefs.

To make room on the 90-man roster, the Seahawks waived linebacker Chris Paul Jr. with an injury designation. If Paul clears waivers, he will go on injured reserve with Seattle.
The addition of Diesch comes after offensive lineman Mason Richman was placed on IR following an injury suffered in last Sunday’s preseason loss in Tennessee. Richman, a seventh-round NFL Draft pick out of Iowa in 2025, played in two games last season, logging 11 snaps on special teams and one on offense.
The 26-year-old Diesch is listed at 6 foot 7 and 300 pounds. The Arizona State product was undrafted in 2022 and has spent time on the rosters or practice squads for the Miami Dolphins, Chicago Bears, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans and Chiefs. He has also played for multiple teams in the UFL.
Diesch was with Kansas City for less than a week, signing on Aug. 20 and being waived six days later.
The Seahawks and Chiefs will wrap up the preseason at 5 p.m. Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium. Seahawks Radio Network coverage on Seattle Sports begins at 3 p.m. with the pregame show. The radio broadcast will also be available on KIRO Newsradio 97.3 FM, the Seattle Sports, KIRO Newsradio and official Seahawks app, and the rest of the Seahawks Radio Network affiliates.
