Seahawks showed Jason Garrett ‘they’re the team to beat’

There have been questions about the Seahawks’ ability to repeat not just as Super Bowl champs but even in their own division, where they have to deal with a heavily hyped Los Angeles Rams team that had a big offseason as well as the always dangerous San Francisco 49ers.

Someone who doesn’t seem to have those questions about the Hawks is former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, who watched the Seahawks’ win over the Patriots closely in his role as an analyst on NBC’s Football Night in America broadcasts.

Garrett told Seattle Sports’ Wyman and Bob on Tuesday that he sees the Seahawks as “the team to beat” in the NFL. Here’s exactly what Garrett said:

Offensive line, really good. Tight ends, receivers, quarterback, runners (too). The questions are, hey, Kenneth Walker’s in Kansas City now, who’s going to be the young runner? I’m a big Jadarian Price fan, I did a lot of his games at Notre Dame, so I feel like he’s a really talented young guy who plays the game the right way. I think we saw glimpses of that on Wednesday night.

And then on the defensive side, the front seven is off the charts. The back end, really phenomenal. Now they’re banged up, as we know, so addressing those issues, I think, are real for them. But they played really, really well and they didn’t seem to skip a beat. So, I’m a big fan of their coaching, I’m a big fan of their team and their talent. To me, they’re the team to beat.
