Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald was asked about several injured players on Monday morning during his weekly appearance on Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk.
After turnover-filled loss, Seahawks focusing on ‘process’
Here’s a recap of what he said.
• Macdonald said he isn’t sure yet of safety Julian Love‘s status for this week. Love landed on the injury report last Thursday after his calf tightened up in practice. He didn’t practice Thursday or Friday and missed Seattle’s 33-31 loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
“He’s gonna do a bunch of stuff today, and then I think we’ll just take it day by day on what his status is,” Macdonald said.
• Macdonald offered fewer details on safety Ty Okada, who has missed the first three games with a hamstring injury and has yet to return to practice.
“It’s too early right now to kind of make any declarations,” Macdonald said.
• Macdonald said the team is working through the details on whether running back Zach Charbonnet will return to practice this week.
Charbonnet, who underwent knee surgery in February to repair a torn ACL, is required to miss the first four games of the season after he remained on the physically unable to perform list after last month’s roster cutdowns. However, Charbonnet was eligible to return to practice starting last week.
“There’s some things going on right now where we’re going to decide on how we want to move forward,” Macdonald said. “I think either today or tomorrow morning we’ll make that decision of if he’s going to come back and start to practice.
“I mean, he’s not going to play for another couple weeks or whatever, but to start kind of open his window to get him out there. We’ll see.”
