SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Seahawks have 8 on injury report, including Witherspoon DNP

Sep 10, 2025, 4:10 PM

The first Seattle Seahawks injury report of the week spells more trouble at cornerback.

Two-time Pro Bowl corner Devon Witherspoon was listed as not participating in practice Wednesday due to a knee injury, four days ahead of Seattle’s Week 2 road trip to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Stacy Rost: Three big questions for Seattle Seahawks in Week 2

The Seahawks already had uncertainty at the position with head coach Mike Macdonald not committing to Riq Woolen starting after a rough showing late in Seattle’s Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

The secondary was also the source of the Seahawks one other player who did not practice Wednesday: rookie safety Nick Emmanwori, who suffered a high-ankle sprain early in his NFL debut last weekend.

Emmanwori is almost certainly not a consideration to play Sunday at Pittsburgh, with Macdonald saying during his weekly Wednesday press conference that the team is “going to take it throughout the week to decide” if he will be placed on injured reserve, which would rule him out for at least four games.

Four players were limited in practice Wednesday for Seattle:

• LB Ernest Jones (shoulder)
• S Julian Love (groin)
• DT Jarran Reed (back)
• WR Dareke Young (hamstring)

Additionally, wide receiver Jake Bobo (concussion) and linebacker Uchenna Nwosu (knee) were both full participants after missing the opener.

The Seahawks’ Week 2 game against DK Metcalf, Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers (1-0) will kick off at 10 a.m. Sunday. Radio coverage on Seattle Sports will begin at 7 a.m. with the pregame show.
