RENTON – K.J. Wright is undergoing a “process” on his knee.

Not a surgery. Not necessarily a procedure even, but a process.

At least that was the word coach Pete Carroll used to describe the reason for his linebacker’s absence on Tuesday’s practice.

“He’s got a little process that we’re going through to help his knee,” Carroll said. “He has something that has been just nagging so he’s out of town working on that this week.”

Carroll was asked specifically whether Wright was undergoing surgery, and the coach said he was not.

Wright is entering his seventh season with the Seahawks, and is one of the team’s most durable players, having missed a total of four games in his first six seasons with the team.

He has started 48 consecutive regular-season games for Seattle, a streak that began after the 2013 season when he suffered a broken bone in his foot in Game 13, but returned in time to play in the Super Bowl that season.
