Seahawks announce re-signing of CB Josh Jobe

The Seattle Seahawks officially announced Tuesday that they’ve re-signed cornerback Josh Jobe to a multi-year deal.

The announcement confirms reports from Monday that Jobe, an unrestricted free agent, is staying in the Pacific Northwest following the Seahawks’ Super Bowl run. Specifics of Jobe’s contract were not included in the announcement. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Monday the 27-year-old cornerback was returning on a three-year, $24 million deal.

“It means a lot,” Jobe said of his new contract, via Seahawks.com’s John Boyle. “Throughout my years in the NFL, it’s been hard for me. Since going undrafted, I’ve overcome a lot of adversity. This deal means a lot, and I’m excited to be back.”

Jobe, who went undrafted out Alabama in 2022, has turned into an incredible find for the Seahawks since they signed him to their practice squad last season following his release from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Jobe debuted for the Seahawks in Week 7 of the 2024 season, getting the start at corner while Riq Woolen and Tre Brown were out with injuries. He became a regular on defense from that point on and played in the next nine games, including five starts, before missing the season finale with a neck injury.

Jobe, a four-year pro, took over as a full-time starter in Week 2 of this past season and played in all but one of Seattle’s 20 games including the playoffs. In 16 regular season games, he totaled 12 passes defended, one interception and 0.5 sacks. The 47.7% completion rate Jobe allowed was the fourth-lowest among all defenders minimum 50 targets, according to NextGenStats. The 5.4 yards he allowed per target while aligned as an outside corner was also the fourth-lowest in the league minimum 50 targets.

In addition to re-signing Jobe, the Seahawks are also reportedly re-signing wide receiver/return man Rashid Shaheed to a three-year, $51 million deal. Running back Kenneth Walker III, edge rusher Boye Mafe and safety Coby Bryant have all reportedly agreed to deals with news teams. Walker, Mafe and Bryant won’t be eligible to officially sign contracts until Wednesday when the new league year begins.
