Report: Vikings hiring Seahawks assistant GM Nolan Teasley

The Minnesota Vikings are hiring Seattle Seahawks assistant general manager Nolan Teasley as their general manager, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero reported Saturday morning.

Teasley, an Ellensburg native and Central Washington University alumnus, has spent the past 13 seasons with the Seahawks, including the last three as the assistant general manager.

Teasley was initially hired in 2013 and has been with the franchise for both its Super Bowl titles. Prior to his current role, he spent five seasons as the Seahawks’ director of pro personnel, one season as assistant director of pro personnel and three seasons as a pro personnel scout.

The Athletic’s Alec Lewis on Thursday reported the Vikings had completed a second round of interviews for their general manager position. Minnesota reportedly conducted second interviews with Teasley, Vikings executive president of football operations and interim general manager Rob Brzezinski, Broncos assistant general manager Reed Burckhardt, Bills assistant general manager Terrance Gray and Rams assistant general manager John McKay.

Teasley is set to replace Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, who was fired Jan. 30 after four seasons with Minnesota, and Brzezinski, who had been serving in an interim role during the offseason. The Vikings finished 9-8 last season and missed the playoffs for the fourth time in the past six seasons.

ESPN’s Brady Henderson on May 7 reported that if the Vikings were to hire Teasley, Seattle would receive a compensatory third-round pick in each of the next two drafts (2027 and ’28).

According to OverTheCap, the Seahawks are also projected to get four compensatory picks in the 2027 draft (one fourth-rounder and three fifth-rounders) for the free agency departures of running back Kenneth Walker III, edge rusher Boye Mafe, cornerback Riq Woolen and safety Coby Bryant.

Seattle is now projected to have 12 total picks in the 2027 draft: one first-rounder, one second-rounder, two third-rounders, one fourth-rounder, four fifth-rounders, one sixth-rounder and two seventh-rounders.
