Stacy Rost: What changed to make Seattle Seahawks a Super Bowl team

Essentially Sports draft analyst Tony Pauline reported from the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, on Wednesday that Kubiak has second interviews for head-coaching jobs scheduled this week with the Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals.

The 38-year-old Kubiak has been among the most popular coaching candidates following his first year with the Seahawks. According to reports, he has interviewed with six of the 10 teams who have or are set to hire a new head coach for the 2026 season.

With the Seahawks in the Super Bowl, Kubiak is eligible do interviews this week with teams he had previously done a first interview with, but he cannot be hired until after the Super Bowl, which takes place next Sunday, Feb. 8.

Under Kubiak’s play-calling, the Seahawks were third in the league with 28.4 points per game and eighth with 351.4 total yards per game in the regular season. Their 483 total points scored set a franchise record.

Seattle also saw major improvements in its run game and pass protection. It made the jump from 28th in the league at 95.7 rushing yards per game last season to tied for 10th in the league at 123.3 yards per game this year. The Seahawks also allowed just 27 sacks, which tied for the fifth-least in the league and was exactly half of the total they allowed last season.
