The Seattle Seahawks ruled out linebacker Drake Thomas (ankle), linebacker Chazz Surratt (calf) and running back Zach Charbonnet (knee) for Thursday night’s game at the Denver Broncos.

No other Seahawks are carrying injury designations into the game.

With Thomas out, third-year pro Tyrice Knight will start at linebacker alongside veteran Ernest Jones IV. Knight has made 14 career starts since being selected in the fourth round of the 2024 draft, which includes forcing two fumbles that were returned for TDs in a Week 10 win over Arizona last season.

Knight has appeared in all five games for Seattle this season, with 101 of his 124 snaps coming on special teams. He registered his first tackle of the year in Sunday’s loss to San Francisco.

“We’re confident he’ll play great, and the standard stays the same on defense,” head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters Wednesday. “I know he’s excited for the opportunity, and we’re excited to see him play.”

Macdonald was unsure if Thomas would be ready to return next week against Kansas City. Thomas injured his ankle in the first half of Sunday’s game but returned in the second half and finished the contest.

Surratt is set to miss his third straight game with the calf injury.

Macdonald had already said Charbonnet would not play on Monday.

In addition to Seattle’s three players who were ruled out, the Denver Broncos ruled out two key defensive backs and could be without another. Three-time All-Pro cornerback Patrick Surtain II (ankle) and two-time All-Pro safety Talanoa Hufanga (ankle) were each ruled out and cornerback Riley Moss (ribs) is questionable.
