The pick for Seahawks at No. 32 seems obvious to draft analyst

With Kenneth Walker III departing in free agency and Zach Charbonnet recovering from a torn ACL, many expect the Seattle Seahawks to target a running back at some point in next week’s NFL Draft.

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah – a regular guest on Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk – recently took that notion a step further.

During an appearance on Monday’s edition of The Joel Klatt Show, Jeremiah was asked about Notre Dame running back Jadarian Price’s potential ceiling and floor in the draft. Jeremiah all but guaranteed the Seahawks to pick him at No. 32 overall.

“The ceiling, I’ll go Seattle, pick 32,” Jeremiah said. “And then the floor? I’ll go Seattle, 32.”

Despite serving as the backup at Notre Dame behind projected top-five draft pick Jeremiyah Love, Price still rushed for 1,420 yards, 18 touchdowns and 6.1 yards per carry over the past two seasons. Price also had two kickoff return touchdowns in 2025 and was a third-team AP All-American.

Love and Price headline what’s widely considered to be a weak running back draft class. In Jeremiah’s latest ranking of the top 50 draft prospects, the only two running backs are Love at No. 2 and Price at No. 39.

“If you don’t get on the Jadarian Price train, I’m not feeling great about you having a running back that you think could start next year,” Jeremiah said. “I think this is a two-starting-running-back draft.

“Now, we always will get some guys who will surprise us and be solid players. But to me, it is a weakness in this draft.”

The Seahawks do have some internal options at running back who could be primed for bigger roles – including George Holani, Kenny McIntosh and recent free agent addition Emanuel Wilson. However, they are mostly unproven at the NFL level.

That’s why Jeremiah thinks drafting Price is a no-brainer for Seattle.

“How do they not take him?” Jeremiah said. “They don’t have a starting running back. … And you’re gonna have to buy some time, because Charbonnet’s coming off an injury.”
