WSU Cougars roll past LMU 94-77, advance to WCC quarterfinals

PARADISE, Nev. (AP) — Ethan Price and Nate Calmese each scored 22 points as the No. 6 seed WSU Cougars cruised past No. 7 seed Loyola Marymount 94-77 in a West Coast Conference Tournament third-round game Saturday night.

With the victory, Washington State (19-13) advanced to face No. 3 seed San Francisco in the WCC quarterfinals on Sunday night. The winner of that matchup will face No. 2 seed Gonzaga in Monday night’s semifinals.
Rihards Vavers added 16 points on four 3-pointers for WSU, which led the entire way. LeJuan Watts recorded a double-double with 12 points and 13 assists. Isaiah Watts chipped in 11 points to give the Cougars five scorers in double figures.
The Lions (17-15) were led in scoring by Myron Amey Jr., who finished with 16 points. Jevon Porter added 13 points, while Jan Vide and Caleb Stone-Carrawell had 10 apiece.
