Report: UW Huskies receiver to miss 2-3 months with injury

The UW Huskies are reportedly set to be without another one of their offensive starters at a skill position for an extended period.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported Monday morning wide receiver Christian Moss with miss two to three months with a lower-body injury suffered during the Apple Cup.

Moss, a sixth-year senior, won a starting receiver role with the Huskies in fall camp after transferring from Kennesaw State. He did record a reception in either of team’s first two games.

The 6-foot-3 receiver hauled in 45 receptions for 689 yards and two TDs for Kennesaw State last season while helping the Owls win the Conference USA title. He also spent the 2024 season at Kennesaw State following two years at Virginia Tech.

The Huskies could be without another key receiver this weekend against Eastern Washington. Thamel reported Rashid Williams is week-to-week with an undisclosed injury sustained in Saturday’s 16-14 win over Utah State. Williams, a redshirt junior, had four catches for 96 yards and one TD in UW’s first two games, including 74 yards and a TD on three receptions in the Apple Cup.

The injuries at receiver add to health issues UW is dealing with on offense. Quaid Carr and Jayden Limar, the team’s top two running backs, each suffered injuries during the Apple Cup that will sideline them for an extended amount of time. Carr was set to undergo surgery on his left hand, and Limar injured his right elbow. Both were seen wearing slings on the UW sideline Saturday.

In addition to those injuries, the Huskies are still awaiting the return of starting center Landen Hatchett. The Ferndale native has been out since suffering a broken wrist against Illinois last October.

UW wraps up nonconference play this coming Saturday when it hosts FCS Eastern Washington at 4:15 p.m.
