The UW Huskies and head coach Danny Sprinkle have reportedly made a late addition to the roster.
The Huskies signed Nevada transfer Tayshawn Comer, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reported Thursday night.
UW Huskies to hire general manager, per report
UW will be the fourth school in five years for Comer, a 6-foot-1 guard. He was one among more than 45 athletes from the 2022 recruiting class who in July filed an aged-base lawsuit in California against the NCAA seeking a fifth year of eligibility for the 2026-27 season after being excluded from the NCAA’s new “5-for-5” rule.
In 37 games for Nevada last season, Comer averaged 11.0 points on 38.3% shooting from the field, 33% from 3-point range and 79.7% from the free-throw line, adding 3.6 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game.
He spent the 2024-25 season at Evansville where he averaged career highs of 16.2 points, 4.1 assists and 3.7 rebound in 32 games. His efforts earned a second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection.
Comer spent his first two college seasons at Eastern Kentucky.
An Indianapolis native, Comer was a three-star recruit coming out of high school, according to 247sports. He also held offers from Appalachian State, Ball State and Miami (Ohio).
The Huskies already appeared to have a full 15-man roster before adding Comer, though the team has yet to officially unveil its 2026-27 roster. The program is set to return six players – Wesley Yates III, Mady Traore, Nikola Dzepina, Jasir Rencher, Lathan Sommerville and walk-on Brandon Roy Jr – and bring in nine new players through the transfer portal and high school and international recruiting. It’s unclear at this point, but an undisclosed injury or eligibility issue could have opened a spot for Comer.
