Braga, 21, plays professionally in Brazil. In 42 games with Minas of Novo Basquete Brasil this season, the 6-foot-9 forward is averaging 10.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks over 19.7 minutes per contest. He’s shooting 51.5% from the field and 30.25 from 3-point range.
Braga also made his debut for Team Brazil during the FIBA Basketball World Cup Americas Qualifiers in November, posting 8.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game in three contests.
Braga is the sixth player and one of just two non-transfers to join UW’s 2026 recruiting class. He joins Mount Si High School product Lattimore Ford, Gonzaga transfer Steele Venters, Texas Tech transfer LeJuan Watts, San Francisco transfer Ryan Beasley and Davidson transfer Parker Friedrichsen.
The Huskies are also set to return guard Wesley Yates III, forward Nikola Dzepina, center Lathan Sommerville, forward Mady Traore, forward Jasir Rencher and walk-on guard Brandon Roy Jr. from last season’s squad.
