Gonzaga rolls past WSU Cougars 84-63 for 5th straight win

PULLMAN, Wash. – Nolan Hickman scored 23 points as the Gonzaga Bulldogs routed the WSU Cougars 84-63 to sweep the regular-season series between the new West Coast Conference rivals.

Graham Ike added 17 points and 13 rebounds for Gonzaga (21-7, 12-3 WCC), which won its fifth straight. Michael Ajayi had 12 points and Braden Huff had 11 to give the Zags four scorers in double figures. Gonzaga closed the first half on a 27-9 run to build a 50-28 advantage and cruised the rest of the way.

LeJuan Watts scored 19 points to lead WSU (16-12, 6-9), which has lost seven of its past eight games.

Gonzaga remains two games behind Saint Mary’s in the WCC standings. The longtime conference rivals square off Saturday night in Spokane, just three weeks after Saint Mary’s won the teams’ first meeting 62-58 in Moraga.
