The MLB postseason is underway, and once that wraps up, the offseason will officially begin.
The first month of the offseason figures to be a busy one for the Seattle Mariners and everyone else across baseball as teams attempt to get as much done as possible before an expected lockout that would start at 9 p.m. on Dec. 1 when the league’s collective bargaining agreement expires.

Below are the Mariners players set to hit free agency and those with contract options for next season. All contract details are via Spotrac.
Free agents
• Outfielder Randy Arozarena. The 31-year-old Arozarena is set to be perhaps the most coveted free-agent bat on the market following a career season with the M’s. The left fielder slashed .281/.381/.484 with an .865 OPS, 26 homers, 34 doubles and 26 stolen base while producing 5.5 fWAR.
Among players set to hit free agency, Arozarena has the highest OPS, most stolen bases and hit the second-most homers.
• Infielder J.P. Crawford. The 31-year-old Crawford is hitting free agency for the first time following an eight-year stint where he became the leader in games played at shortstop in Mariners history. Crawford dealt with injuries throughout this past season while slashing .221/.335/.352 with a .687 OPS, 14 homers and 12 doubles in 116 games.
If this was it for J.P. Crawford, he’s left a lasting impact on Mariners
Crawford, who began playing some third base this season in addition to shortstop, may be the best available shortstop in what is a very thin free-agent market at the position.
• Outfielder Taylor Ward. The 32-year-old Ward is hitting the open market following an odd year. He saw a massive dip in power but huge surge in on-base percentage with Baltimore, then struggled immensely following a trade to the M’s. On the season, Ward had a .225/.359/.311 slash line with a .670 OPS, seven homers, 20 doubles and a career-high 99 walks. However, he hit a meager .125 with a .385 OPS and one extra-base hit in 32 games with Seattle.
• Reliever Hoby Milner. The 35-year-old Milner spent his final month of 2026 with the M’s after being released by the Cubs. He had a 4.26 ERA with three runs allowed and seven strikeouts to one walk over 6 1/3 innings in six appearances with Seattle. On the season, the left-hander had a 3.64 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 25 strikeouts to 10 walks over 42 innings in 44 outings with the M’s and Cubs.
Club options
• Closer Andrés Muñoz. The 27-year-old Muñoz has a $9 million club option for 2027 that will very likely be exercised even after a down year. The right-hander shared the MLB lead with 10 blown saves this season while posting a 4.24 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 28 saves and 89 strikeouts to 24 walks over 57 1/3 innings in 61 outings.
If Seattle was for some reason to decline the club option for ’27, Muñoz would become one of the top relievers on the market. If his option is exercised, he also has a club option for 2028 that will come up after next season. Neither of Muñoz’s club options include buyouts.
• Outfielder Victor Robles. The 29-year-old Robles has a $9 million club options for 2027 that seems unlikely to be exercised after he played sparingly this season. The buyout for his deal is $500,000. In 65 games in 2026, Robles slashed .256/.315/.308 with a .623 OPS, three doubles, two triples and 10 stolen bases.
