Mariners-White Sox Lineups: Cal Raleigh gets another DH day

After playing catcher on Friday night for the first time in a week, Cal Raleigh is serving as the Seattle Mariners’ designated hitter for Saturday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.

Raleigh had a side issue during the Mariners’ recent homestand that caused him to miss three games and then limited him to DH duties for two more games on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Raleigh returned to his usual spot behind the plate for Friday’s series opener in Chicago, but is back to a DH role Saturday. He is 0 for 13 in three games since returning from the side issue.

Meanwhile, third baseman Brendan Donovan is out of the lineup Saturday after starting Friday’s game in his return from a nearly three-week stint on the injured list with a left groin muscle strain. He went 1 for 5 in his first game back.

Backup catcher Mitch Garver will start behind the plate for the Mariners, while switch-hitting utilityman Leo Rivas will start at third base. Rob Refsnyder will bat leadoff and start in right field as Seattle rolls out a righty-heavy lineup against Chicago left-hander Anthony Kay.

Veteran right-hander Luis Castillo will take the hill for the Mariners, who outslugged the White Sox 12-8 in Friday’s series opener at Rate Field.

Former Mariners top prospect Jarred Kelenic will again bat seventh and play right field for Chicago.

First pitch is at 4:10 p.m., with Mariners Radio Network coverage on Seattle Sports begins with the pregame show at 3 p.m.
