It didn’t take long for Seattle Mariners top prospect Colt Emerson to go yard at Triple-A Tacoma.

In just the third at-bat of his Triple-A debut on Tuesday afternoon, Emerson pulled a 1-2 slider over the right-center-field fence at Tacoma’s Cheney Stadium for a three-run homer against Oklahoma City.
Emerson, a 20-year-old infielder, was promoted from Double-A Arkansas earlier in the day. Arkansas’ season ended on Sunday.

Emerson, a 2023 first-round draft pick out of high school, is one of baseball’s top prospects. He’s ranked as MLB Pipeline’s No. 11 overall prospect and Baseball America’s No. 12 prospect, due in large part to his polished left-handed swing and advanced plate discipline.
Emerson began the season at High-A Everett, where he slashed .281/.388/.453 with 11 homers, five triples, 16 doubles and an .841 OPS in 90 games. The Ohio native then earned an early August promotion to Arkansas, where he slashed .282/.360/.430 with three homers, one triple, 10 doubles and a .790 OPS in 34 games.
