Results from an MRI on Monday revealed the dislocated left shoulder Robles suffered caused a small fracture in the humeral head. The team expects its leadoff hitter will not need surgery, but will be monitoring how the injury heals.

If no surgery is required, the fracture should heal in approximately six weeks, the team said. Another six weeks of rehab is estimated to be needed afterwards.

Robles made a spectacular grab crashing into the netting in right field on a foul ball with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning at Oracle Park. He was carted off the field afterwards.

The news is a tough blow Robles and the Mariners. The speedy right-handed hitter experienced a career resurgence as a surprising breakout star for the team after being released by the Washington Nationals early last season. After joining Seattle in early June, he batted .328 with an .860 OPS, 20 doubles, four home runs and 30 stolen bases.

Robles’ strong showing earned him a two-year contract extension last August and the roles of starting right fielder and leadoff hitter for 2025.

In 10 games this season, Robles is hitting .273 with a .624 OPS, three doubles and three stolen bases.
