Mariners prospect Jonny Farmelo is healthy and raking

Farmelo, who made his pro debut in Single-A in 2024, was limited to just 75 games over his first two pro seasons by a torn ACL and stress reaction in his rib cage.

He’s put together a fully healthy season so far this year, and recently he’s been on a tear at the plate that’s served as a reminder of the 21 year old’s five-tool potential.

Farmelo, ranked as the Mariners’ No. 6 prospect and No. 71 in baseball by MLB Pipeline, homered and tripled during the High-A Everett AquaSox’s 11-1 win over Vancouver on Friday night for his fifth multi-hit game of June. Through his first 10 games this month, he’s batting .395 (15 for 38) with an eye-popping 1.379 OPS and eight extra-base hits, including four homers.

The hot streak dates back even further, though. In 24 games since May 16, Farmelo is batting .337 (31 for 92) with five homers, four triples, two doubles, 11 stolen bases and 20 walks to 25 strikeouts. He has hits in 20 games over that stretch and has raised his batting average 58 points.

On the season, Farmelo is hitting .266 with an .863 OPS, eight homers, nine doubles, six triples and 18 stolen bases. He leads the Northwest League in triples and is one of just two minor leaguers across all levels with at least six triples and eight homers this season.

But the most encouraging sign for Farmelo this year has been his health. He entered Saturday tied for the Northwest League lead with a career-high 57 games played.

If Farmelo can stay on the field and keep up his hot pace, a promotion to Double-A could be in his near future.
