Mariners RHP Logan Gilbert named AL Player of the Week

Seattle Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert was named the American League Player of the Week for June 15-21, MLB announced on Monday.

A few buy-low trade targets for Mariners to consider

It’s the second AL Player of the Week honor for the 29-year-old Gilbert, who also earned the award in July 2023. That also was the last time a Mariners pitcher received the honor.

Gilbert is the first Mariners player to earn the award since star catcher Cal Raleigh in June 2025.

Gilbert had two stellar two starts this past week, allowing a combined two runs and five hits over 13 1/3 innings. He piled up 18 strikeouts in those two outings, while yielding just three walks.

Last Tuesday, Gilbert recorded a season-high 10 strikeouts over seven innings of one-run ball in Seattle’s 3-1 win over the Baltimore Orioles. He allowed just two hits and one walk.

And on Sunday, Gilbert tossed 6 1/3 innings of one-run ball in the Mariners’ 3-1 win over the Boston Red Sox. He struck out eight batters, while yielding three hits and two walks.

Gilbert has a 3.29 ERA over 16 starts this season, with 100 strikeouts and 22 walks in 93 innings.
