The Seattle Mariners recalled reliever Josh Simpson from Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday to fill the open spot on their 26-man roster.

The Mariners had an open spot after trading right-hander Luis Castillo to the Chicago White Sox on Saturday.

Simpson, 28, has pitched in four games over three stints with the Mariners this season. He’s allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out three over three innings.

In 30 games with Tacoma this year, Simpson has a 2.73 ERA with 40 strikeouts to 13 walks in 33 innings pitched.

The Mariners acquired Simpson on Feb. 16 in exchange for cash considerations in a deal with the Miami Marlins, who had designated him for assignment.

Simpson’s promotion indicates newly acquired reliever Seranthony Domínguez, one of three players sent to Seattle in the Castillo trade, won’t report to the team Sunday. The Seattle Times’ Ryan Divish reported Domínguez is expected to report to the club during their upcoming series against the Detroit Tigers, which begins Tuesday.

Lineup vs Twins

Seattle is rolling out a fairly typical lineup against right-hander Taj Bradley with a couple changes at the bottom of the order.

Victor Robles is getting the start in right field and will bat seventh a day after the M’s placed Luke Raley (left forearm strain) on the 10-day injured list. Shortstop Colt Emerson is moving up one spot from his usual spot in the order to bat eighth, and Leo Rivas hitting ninth as the third baseman in his first start since returning to the big leagues Friday.
