For the first time in his career, Raleigh has been named American League Player of the Month, taking the honors Thursday after a huge June that saw him break multiple records for home runs in the first half of a season.
The latest award comes just one day after Raleigh was named the AL’s starting catcher in the upcoming MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta. It’s his first All-Star nomination.
A fifth-year catcher, Raleigh leads the majors with 33 home runs this season. He’s also first in the AL in RBIs with 71, and second in the big leagues in slugging (.641) and OPS (1.024).

Raleigh won the first two AL Player of the Week awards of his career in June, though the first covered a week that was primarily in May.
In June, Raleigh broke the record of 28 home runs by a catcher before the All-Star break, and the record of 29 home runs by a switch-hitter before the All-Star break. He became the fifth player all-time to hit 33 homers in a season before July, joining a list that includes Ken Griffey Jr., Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds.
The 28-year-old Raleigh is the first Mariners player to win an AL Player of the Month award since Julio RodrĂguez in August 2023. He joins closer AndrĂŠs MuĂąoz, who was AL Reliever of the Month for April, as Mariners to win a monthly award this season.
