After spending the first half of his season in the minor leagues, former Seattle Mariners prospect Harry Ford will be recalled by the Washington Nationals after the All-Star break, according to The Athletic’s Spencer Nusbaum.

Nusbaum’s report came on the same day the Nationals placed backup catcher Drew Millas on the 10-day injured list with a finger fracture.
Ford, a former top prospect in Seattle’s farm system who was sent to Washington in the offseason trade for left-hander Jose A. Ferrer, is batting .223 with a .705 OPS four homers and 11 doubles in 58 games with Triple-A Rochester this season.
The 23-year-old catcher is the Nationals’ seventh-ranked prospect, per MLB Pipeline.
Ford got his first taste of the majors last season when he was called up by the Mariners when rosters expanded to 28 players on Sept. 1. He went 1 for 6 at the plate over eight games, which included a walk-off sac fly in his fourth big league game.
He was also included on the Mariners’ playoff roster for the ALDS and ALCS. He collected a hit in his only postseason at-bat during Game 3 of the ALCS.
