Mariners notebook: Show and go edition

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Mariners left the spring training complex at 10 a.m. this morning, bound for Scottsdale for their spring finale and then home to Seattle. No workouts, no meeting with the manager. Just a classic show and go travel day with players arriving at the complex in their travel clothes (no jackets required because of the heat) and suitcases.

The minor league call-ups for the game got on the bus in uniform, ready to play. They will handle the bulk of the playing time today as Lloyd McClendon will run the regular lineup out for one final tune-up. I wouldn’t expect many if any of the regulars to get more than two at-bats. Starting pitcher Taijuan Walker is expected to throw just two innings.
