How Mariners star Cal Raleigh fared in 1st rehab game

Seattle Mariners star catcher Cal Raleigh began his rehab stint by going 1 for 3 with a single in the High-A Everett Aqua Sox’s 3-2 loss to the visiting Eugene Emeralds on Sunday night at Funko Field.
Luis Castillo continues recent turnaround with strong outing
Raleigh flew out to the right-field warning track in the first inning and struck out swinging in the third. In the sixth, he chopped a single into left field that bounced between the shortstop and third baseman.
All three of the switch-hitting Raleigh’s at-bats came from the left side of the plate. The reigning American League MVP runner-up spent the night as Everett’s designated hitter before being pinch-hit for in the eighth inning.
The Mariners placed Raleigh on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain on May 14.

According to Mariners insider Shannon Drayer, Raleigh will join the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers on Tuesday and spend the rest of the week there before the M’s assess where he’s at. Tacoma returns home to open a six-game series against the Albuquerque Isotopes on Tuesday.
After blasting an MLB-leading 60 home runs last year, Raleigh sputtered to a slow start this season before landing on the IL. He slashed .161/.243/.317 for a .560 OPS with seven homers in 41 games for Seattle, including a career-long 0-for-38 slump.
