Bump expects heavy dose of Seahawks RB Jadarian Price vs Cards

The Notre Dame product carried the ball 10 times for a team-high 52 yards, which included a 13-yard run on his first career carry that stood as the longest rush of the day for the Seattle running back, and he added a pair of receptions for six yards.

Price is set for his second game as a pro this weekend when the Seahawks head south to face an Arizona Cardinals team coming off a surprising Week 1 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, and Seahawks Radio Network analyst and former NFL wide receiver Michael Bumpus expects to see a heavy dose the No. 32 overall pick in this 2026 draft on Sunday.

“I think that Price is gonna be ready to go, and he’s going to get 20 touches,” Bumpus said during his Four Down Territory segment on Monday’s edition of Seattle Sports’ Bump and Stacy. “… Whether it’s a combination of throwing the ball out the backfield and running the football, I think that the coaches are going to watch the same film that I watched and see what I see, see what everyone else saw.”

That would likely mean a big bump in playing time in Week 2 for Price, who never amassed more than 15 offensive touches in a game during his college career while playing alongside star running back Jeremiyah Love (now the Cardinals’ running back). Price was on the field for 24 of the Seattle’s 50 offensive snaps in Week 1, which resulted in a 50% usage rate as he registered 12 total touches. But Bump believes what the 5-foot-11, 209-pound running back showed in the opener, paired with the fact the Seahawks are expected to be down to backup quarterback Drew Lock, warrants a bigger workload this coming Sunday.

“I’ve never had conversations with so many people about a guy who touched a ball 10 times for like 50-something yards,” Bumpus said. “Everyone’s excited. They see exactly what he’s capable of doing. So, I think that against the Arizona Cardinals, with Drew Lock being under center and Sam Darnold not being there, you’re gonna have to lean on the run game a bit more, and we are going to see Price touch the ball 20 times – and he should touch the ball 20 times.”

“It was the speed (and) decisiveness. He just looks different,” Bumpus said. “I don’t think the Hawks have ever had a back like him.”
