Apple TV picks up 2 Mariners games in August

Major League Baseball and Apple announced Thursday that two Seattle Mariners games in August will air on Apple TV’s Friday Night Baseball broadcast.

The dream-big trade target for the Mariners

The streaming service picked up Seattle’s home game against the Tampa Bay Rays at 6:40 p.m. Aug. 7 and its road matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays at 4:07 p.m. Aug. 28.

For those who want to watch the games but still experience the local call, you can change the audio feed for the games to the Seattle Sports radio broadcast, featuring announcers Rick Rizzs and Gary Hill Jr.

To change the audio from the Apple announcers to the Seattle Sports radio call, click the circular waveform icon – above the timeline and to the right of the button for subtitles (the subtitles icon looks like a quote box). Once you click on the waveform icon, it will give the options to choose the TV audio or either team’s radio feed.

The Mariners’ Aug. 7 game against the Rays kicks off their 50 Seasons Celebration Weekend at T-Mobile Park and is set to be followed by the club’s first Alumni Home Run Derby, which will feature several former Mariners including Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki as a participant and fellow franchise icon Ken Griffey Jr. as the commissioner and host.

The Aug. 28 matchup against the Blue Jays kicks off the second series this season between last year’s American League Championship Series opponents.

With the two nationally streamed games added in, the M’s now have six nationally broadcasted games remaining on their schedule. Below is a look at the full list.
